The Return of the King - Luke 19:28-40

Responding to the King. Luke 19:11:27.

As we start the new year, we once more pick up our series long-running series in Luke with one of our Elders, Richard, preaching. Luke 19:11-27.

Zacchaeus – I want to see Jesus. Luke 19:1-10.

Zacchaeus will stop at nothing to see Jesus, unaware that Jesus will stop everything to see him. Luke 19:1-10.

I want to see. Luke 18:31-43.

As Jesus travels near Jericho on his was to Jerusalem, he shares some unsettling predictions about his reception there. He also meets Bartimaeus, who is not shy in trying to get Jesus' attention. Luke 18v31-43.

You need a miracle. Luke 18:18-30.

The rich young ruler asks perhaps the most important question that we can ask: Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? Let's unpack Jesus' challenging answer. Luke 18v18-30.

Receiving the gift of mercy. Luke 18:9-17.

The Kyrie Eleison. A short and profound prayer: Lord have mercy, which made all the difference between one man going home made right with God and another going home still in his sin. Luke 18:9-17.

Being persistent in prayer. Luke 18:1-8.

It's easy to lose heart in prayer, especially if the answer doesn't seem to be quickly forthcoming. Jesus too this parable to encourage the disciples to always pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1-8.

When will the kingdom of God come? Luke 17:20-37.

There was great Jewish expectation was the promised kingdom of God, but the question was when would it come. Jesus' surprise answer, was that it was already in their midst. Luke 17v20-37.

God owes us nothing, but gives us everything! Luke 17:7-19.

We can sometimes harbour entitled attitudes towards God, but Jesus reminds us that when God deals graciously with us, it is an out of mercy not compulsion. Luke 17:7-19.

All about sin! Luke 17:1-6.

Sin: don't cause it, rebuke it and by faith you can even forgive it. Luke 16:19-31.
